My travel fiddles are made for those looking to maximize tone and playability while still having something very packable in size and built to travel.
The travel fiddles feature a full size 4/4 violin scale length and all critical dimensions along the playing length of the instrument are maintained. This ensures the instrument plays as closely as possible to its full size counterpart.
The width of the instrument is modified to roughly half that of a full size violin.
In designing a travel fiddle, I haven't forgotten that the bow is half the instrument. I offer a unique composite travel bow that breaks down for travel. This allows the packed size of your total kit to be significantly shorter than if a full size bow was carried, and keeps the bow protected. The composite bow material is much stronger than wood and less affected by temperature, therefore it plays well under varied temperature & humidity conditions.
Lastly, the fittings and case for the travel fiddle have all been thought out: a custom fitted shoulder rest, waterproof padded case and arched bridge protector round out the complete travel fiddle package.
